Visit Unbo's house, which depicts King Sejong, the painted king of KRW 10,000.


Sejong Brewing (Korean traditional liquors)

Visit Sejong Brewing and tasting Korean traditional liquors

Sejong Brewing has brewed Korean traditional liquors such as Makgeolli, Yakju, and Distilled Soju through traditional method and continuously struggled to modernize them. 

You can improve your understanding of Korean traditional liquors and tasting Korean traditional liquors.

National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Cheongju

The museum is Korea's first water burial-type exhibition hall, which preserves artworks in an optimal environment and allows visitors to see them.


Seongan-gil, Yukgeori Market , Jungang Park

With a history of more than 1500 years, Seongan-gil road is known as the Myeongdong of Cheongju. There are more than 300 shops including cosmetics, clothing, shoes and other merchants, as well as 3 large movie theaters.

Cheongnamdae Presidential Villa

The Cheongnamdae, which means "Cheong Wa Dae in a warm southern land," was once a private villa used by presidents of Korea.

For the past 20 years, it served as a place where five successive presidents could rest or make political plans in a natural environment.

Munui Cultural Properties Site

The site is used as a history education venue as it contains traditional Korean pub restaurants, noblemen’s houses, commoners’ houses, a smithy, and an inn. 

Cheongwon-gun’s Munui Cultural Properties Site for Folk Cultural Relics, a Local Cultural Monument where the Past, the Future, and the Present Co-exist


Cheongju Early Printing Museum (Heungdeoksaji Temple Site)

This early printing museum, located on the site of Heungdeoksa Temple in which Jikji, the world's oldest extant book, printed by movable metal type, was printed, was founded on March 17, 1992. Since the technology’s inception, Korea has substantially developed its metal-type printing methods. In this museum, approximately 650 artifacts including ancient movable metal and wooden print books from the Goryeo and Joseon periods, relics from the Heungdeoksaji Temple site (흥덕사지) and printing tools are on display. Here, visitors can learn about the history of the Korean printing technologies and culture. 

In addition to exhibition, the museum has been promoted to hold the Cheongju International Printing & Publishing Fair, to study early printing culture and printing types and to publish museum journals and early printing-related papers.
